How Gradie handles personal information while supporting schools, educators, learners and families.

Last updated: July 26, 2026

For schools using Gradie, the school remains responsible for the information it provides about its community. These terms explain how Gradie supports that work.

This Privacy Policy explains how Gradie handles personal information when people visit our website or use Gradie through a school. It applies to school administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and guardians, and other authorised users.

We handle information needed to provide and improve the service. The exact information depends on a person’s role and the features a school uses.

  • Account and contact details, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers and role details.
  • School records, including class, subject, timetable, attendance, assessment, progress and billing information.
  • Information a school supplies to link students, parents or guardians, and staff.
  • Technical and usage information needed to secure, operate and troubleshoot the service.

We use information to provide the Gradie service, authenticate users, present the appropriate school workspace, maintain records, provide support, protect the platform, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

The school decides which student, family and staff information is entered into Gradie and how it is used for its educational and administrative activities. In that relationship, the school is generally the controller of that information and Gradie acts on the school’s documented instructions to provide the service.

Parents and guardians should contact their school first with questions about a student’s record, including requests to access, correct or delete information.

We share information only as needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transfer. Authorised school users see information according to their role and the permissions configured for their school. Service providers may process information for us under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet our obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements, subject to a school’s instructions and applicable law.

You may update certain account information through Gradie or by asking your school administrator. To exercise applicable privacy rights, or to ask about this policy, contact your school or contact Gradie through our contact page. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the date above.
